Primal Ordeal

August 18-20th

Primal Ordeal is a sacred kink festival held at Windward Education & Research center in Wahkiacus, WA. Our mission is to provide a risk-aware space in which to celebrate our Primal Natures and conduct sacred ordeals work in a natural setting.

This year, the focus of our collective work will be on the practice of Embodiment. The Healthy Primal self, viewed through the lens of Earth, is unity in the body through an holistic awareness of the animal senses. By getting in touch with physical sensation we will more readily recognize when something is out of alignment with our Wills. This awareness is the key to acting in abiding integrity.

Primal Ordeal will boast a robust program around our shared interests in heritage arts and sacred kink. Workshops on topics ranging from mask work and body painting to rope technique for ritual work will be offered throughout the weekend. Camp-wide rituals will help create community and sanctify our work. Monitored Temple space will be available both evenings of the event. An open section of forest will be designated for personal ordeal work.

Special Guests

We are very pleased to welcome Darklady (Theresa Reed) as our second Honored Elder.

Becoming Diplomacy: Embodiment as a Lifestyle

Let’s talk about diplomacy. In a jaded society where no one can be trusted, immediate gratification is a virtue, reflexive consumption is patriotic, and aggression is strength, diplomacy can be a hard sell. Yet, sincere and heart-felt diplomacy is the best way to resolve conflict, diffuse tension, gain insight, and develop a workable resolution.

What are the skills one needs to gain or nurture for effective diplomacy, and how does one become proficient in them? Bring your wisdom, curiosity, speaking, and listening abilities to this guided circle discussion on how to embody diplomacy and make it a part of your daily life.

The cornerstone of the festival, ORBS will be present to offer public hook suspensions and a hook pull (as part of Saturday evening's main ritual) to the community. There are 9 total suspension slots available, and 20 in the pull. There is an additional cost involved as spots are limited and the ORBS team will be providing equipment and material resources for each individual. He has trained students in witchcraft along with a team of competent Hook suspension artists that practice with spiritual mindfulness. Corvus is the founder and leader of ORBS, Oregon Rituals of Body and Spirit, which practices hook suspension in Portland, OR.
